Hilltop Edition is a husband /wife team who truly enjoys singing and playing
the simple acoustic traditional style of Gospel
and Bluegrass.
Occasionally they have friends or family to accompany them for various venues.
George attended South Plains College in Levelland, better known as
Gale grew up in a musical family and displayed most of her musical
abilities in churches in the tri-state area as well as family and
community events. She sings lead or harmony in a high clear voice.
She is an ample mandolin player as well as some fiddle, a little bit
of guitar, and the up-right bass. She has recently added the auto-harp
to her list of instruments she enjoys playing.
She can't leave out that she grew up playing piano when the family
played
together at home.
She was also the church pianist for a couple
of years where she attended.
Together the Rotan's have played in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma,
at a variety of places such as restaurants, community events, Bluegrass Festivals,
jams, musicals, churches, school functions, memorials, funerals, benefits,
fund-
raisers, birthday parties, grand openings, and family reunions just to name a few.
They are members of the Abilene Bluegrass Club (ABC),
the Panhandle Bluegrass & Old Tyme Music Association (PBOTMA)
and the Permian Basin Bluegrass Music (PBBM).
They continue to play a variety of venues anywhere from church services to
back porch jammin'.
